The symptom-to-pattern-to-report journal

A careful picture of you, over time — in words your doctor can use.

Record what you notice. Respond like a text message. Sympatrn watches for patterns and helps you communicate it to your doctor, or to your AI chat model of choice.

Your record is never shared. It stays on your phone until you choose to send it.

01 · Record

One question at a time.

Each day opens on what you have open — joint pain, fatigue, whatever you have named. Better, the same, worse, or gone. Your medications, a photo if a sign is visible, a note if that is all today needs.

  • About 340 symptoms and signs recognised from everyday phrases, plus your own words
  • Medications by scanning the bottle or box — exact name and strength
  • Questions follow you along — like the app knows you, and is truly concerned for your wellbeing

The Pattern tab: fatigue ongoing since Oct 24, joint pain returned Oct 13 with a month-by-month strip, and a severity line for the last seven entries

02 · Patterns

Two facts side by side — never a cause.

Symptoms, medications, sleep, your iPhone's health readings, and the day's light and weather. Sympatrn says what it measured and no more: "landed on the colder days more often than chance would put it — 27 of 60."

Patterns are computed fresh every time. One that stops being true stops showing.

03 · Report

Two doors: your doctor, or an AI.

Report for my doctor. You choose what goes in, the period, and the length — a PDF for the visit or a character-limited paste for the portal box. What you preview is exactly what leaves.

Ask an AI. A prompt built from your record with strict ground rules, for ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. You carry it over yourself; the reply comes back as questions for your doctor and things to try.

Privacy

Nothing leaves the phone except what you copy or share.

No account. No cloud copy.Your record lives on your iPhone and rides in its own backup. Sympatrn keeps none of its own.
Every consent is separate.Health data, weather, social factors — each its own opt-in, each withdrawable. Withdrawing deletes what it covered.
Not a diagnosis.Sympatrn names associations, never causes. Your clinician is the source of truth — the record helps you talk to them.

Questions

Five things people ask first

Where is my data?
On your iPhone, and nowhere else. There is no account and no cloud copy. The record rides in your iPhone's own backup — iCloud or a computer — the same as your photos. Sympatrn makes no backup of its own.
Can my doctor see it without me?
No. Nothing reaches anyone until you make a report and send it yourself — as a PDF, a share, or text you paste into a portal. What you see before sending is exactly what leaves, and every report you send is kept in the app as it went out.
Is this a diagnosis?
No. Sympatrn notices things that move together in what you've logged and says so plainly, with the count behind it. It never names a cause and never tells you what you have. Your clinician does that; the record helps you talk to them.
What happens if I delete the app?
The record goes with it. Because there is no cloud copy, deleting the app deletes everything it held, unless your iPhone backup from before still has it. Inside the app you can also withdraw any one consent, or erase the whole record in one step.
Does it work on iPad, Android, or the web?
iPhone only, iOS 17 and later. It reads from Apple Health on the phone and keeps everything there, so there is no web version and nothing to sign in to.
